Meet Recap

The Yorkville Varsity Cheerleaders took the floor at Wilmington on Sunday for the first time this season as a large varsity team! Their performance gave them a second place victory with a score of 79.11. During the performance, we had 2 stunts fall, but the team made up for it in pyramid, tumbling, sportsmanship/performance, and motions! The team’s next competition is going to be on Sunday, December 3rd at Crystal Lake Central. The girls are going to work on throwing harder stunts, cleaning up jumps, and hitting the routine cleanly while having fun. We would like our score to go up and be in the 80’s!

Game Recap

The Yorkville Foxes saw their toughest victory of the season against a very physical and athletic York team. It was a game that saw little scoring and a lot of free throws, but in the end the Foxes used the momentum of a 30 foot three pointer made by Lauren Daffenberg as the buzzer sounded to end the third quarter and help them pull off the victory. Leading the way were Daffenberg with 16 points and 9 rebounds followed by Lindsay Harrison with 8 points and 14 rebounds. Overall it was a great team effort though that saw solid contributions from all members.
